What does no read mean?

Occasionally during the lab processing they will not be able to get a definitive read on a gene. This is rare but it can happen. This could be for a number of reasons, including the quality of the sample or the batch that has been processed.

As part of our ongoing QA with the labs we will check your results during this process to ensure that we are maximising the results. We will update your results automatically should there be an error.

We also look at a number of contributing genes when evaluating a result to help reduce the effect of a no read on a specific gene.

If you go in your settings and look at the raw data to which you have full access, you can see we have processed 700,000 gene variants so as we validate and add new genes you will also get a free update of your results, making them more and more accurate and complete over time.
